The Courier's coverage of the story provided further detail of the issues behind the roadworks; what appeared to be a simple matter of resetting a cover turned out to require rebuilding the underground chamber which had collapsed. And in the meantime and for another week more and more cars will be delayed, and people's journeys lengthened, all because St Andrews is only accessible by road.
