Conferences, consultants and the First Minister

The political parties have been holding their Scottish conferences this month. StARLink supporters have attended the SNP, Liberal Democrat and Labour events, handing out flyers to delegates, and we also managed to e-mail the Greens. Great interest has been shown which we hope will bear fruit.

Over the past few days, members of the StARLink Action Committee have met two transport professionals, one who was part of the London Crossrail project and the other helped reinstate the Alloa line. Both have been very positive about the proposal to reconnect St Andrews and have provided useful advice as to how to proceed.

Also, Willie Rennie MSP for Mid Scotland & Fife, and leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, wrote to the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, on behalf of the StARLink campaign. In reply, Ms Sturgeon advised us to meet Transport Scotland for guidance as to how to proceed. We are very encouraged by this, and are making the appropriate arrangements.
