Review of broadcast
11/07/01
The
St
Andrews Citizen featured
the Radio 4 broadcast from last week, in which
Starlink convenor Jane Ann Liston emphasised ed the
importance of St Andrews as an economic generator and
that rail would be the most efficient way of ferrying
in the large numbers of tourists, students and
commuters. It was also noted that St Andrews was not
included in Dr Beeching’s list of closures and was
therefore an unintended victim. Mention was also made
of the imminent publication of the new route
identified by Tata Steel. Read

'Very few' visitors take train to St Andrews
11/04/19
The
results of a survey of tourism in St Andrews has
revealed that ‘very few’ admit to using the train as
their main mode of transport. According to a report
in The
Courier only 1%
said that they had arrived by train at Leuchars,
nearly 6 miles away from St Andrews, prior to
completing their journey by road. Starlink is not at
all surprised and says it proves that the current bus
links with the station are unattractive to
visitors.
